I also just use the normal one... after a while of tinkering I found it was just the best thing to use for a wide range of music. That said, I am pretty sure they have tweaked the default tuning between firmwares. Nothing crazy to where I want to downgrade or anything.
Does anyone know if EQing uses much battery?
The Headphones app has an interesting new "Find Your Equalizer" beta feature ("Sound" section) where you sample unknown tweaks and pick your favourite effects (on whatever you want to play -- I was using the new Jessy Lanza album). I wound up with ClearBass +6 and a huge boost in the 16k region! I guess it helped the soundstage of the song. Probably make my ears bleed for some other things.
