Has anyone tried using the ier-m9s with the utws5 bluetooth ear hooks & if so what are your thoughts.
Not the best, M9 really seems to like a more powerful source than most IEM.

My Moondrop Variations sounds better when paired with the UTWS5 or my phone but M9 pulls ahead when I use the W2-131 balance out.

I just hooked the m9 & utws5 up yesterday & spent about 5 hours with them they were very good to together I was surprised how great the m9 sounded. To be honest without hearing them side by side 4.4 balance & utws5 i wouldn't no the difference. I used my A&K sp1000m dap which has v4.1 bluetooth opposed to the v5.2 of the utws5, I also tried them with my gallaxy note9 with v5.1 bluetooth which was surprisingly a touch better. So it looks like I may have to buy another m9 for cable inside listening again. 😂

Hey everyone! Just got a pair of IER-M9s in a trade and I'm loving them so far. Does anyone know of any good compatible cables with modular/swappable terminations?

There doesn't exist an official one, but every MMCX should work.

I tested the FiiO ones and they worked just fine

Ah, gotcha. I'll check out some of the FiiO ones then. Thank you!

I don't recommend buying the swappable LC-RC cable from fiio, the terminations are incredibly hard to swap and defeat their entire purpose. I would recommend looking at DUNU swappable cables, those have a patented quick release cable which can be managed much easier than Fiio.

I personally would not buy any swappable cable at all, but thats just my personal opinion. I'd rather use an Adapter.

As i can use my DAP as an USB DAC and/or Bluetooth Receiver, i always use 4.4mm. I rarely, if ever, find myself in situations where i would need something else.

And if that is ever the case, i'd just get an 4.4mm --> 3.5mm Adapter. Getting from 4.4 to 3.5 is extremely easy (only the other way is complicated).

I use the DDHifi DJ44C 4.4 to 3.5mm adaptor with all my IEMs terminate in 4.4mm.

Quite pricey but well built and compact

My EP-NI1000 are now 3 months old and i use them several hours every day with the IER-M9.

They are a bit dirty but after cleaing, they look like new.

For comparison, when i use "normal" foam, they look worse after 1 week. So compared to normal foam, because they last so long, they are defenetly cheaper in the long run

Have you tried the standard Azla Sedna earfit tips on the IER-M9 ? I find them excellent.

They are silicon aren't they? In that case i see no use in trying them. I tried like 6 different types of silicon and they were pretty much alle the same to me.

All of them had air pressure issues (no surprise, silicone blocks air). I can fit silicone with some fiddeling and refitting and trying. The Sony M-Size and the SpinFit M-Size and the Canal Works S-Size Gel-Filled for example work just fine.

But when i use my face muscles, the sound constantly changes due to changes in the air pressure and the isolation is way worse and also i hear myself (my body) way louder.

As the Sony EP-NI1000 fit and sound perfect, i see no reason in further testing. I already wasted too much money on a box full of eartips that i can't use^^
