I have a sony d-ej925 right now and I am itching for an upgrade to use with an SR-71 and ety er4s.

Is the d-ej2000 much of an upgrade? will I notice a difference in sound?

yelp I had them both at the meet,

to me the 2000 rocks the butt of the 925. infact i gave my 925 to nismo

I can't comment on the EJ2000, but the D-EJ925 sounds decent to me. I feel that the sound quality of my D-NE900 is better than the 925 though. I'll have to listen to it a bit more in orderto really give it a fair chance.

Tried the search as you suggested at Tweeter.com but cannot find the Sony DE-J2000 at all for any price. Am I doing something wrong...?

Try eBay. There are a number of reputable sellers who offer it with a BuyItNow option. I ordered one last week for about $128 inclusive of shipping.
