Hi everyone. I looked through a bunch of the repair threads, but couldn't find anything that specifically answers the question of how to repair a Sony D-35 that only plays discs when tilted at an angle. I read that the culprit may be a weak tracking arm. Is there a way to replace it? or somehow repair it? Can I get a part from another model that will fit?

I love my D-35 - it's solid, well-made and has wonderfully detailed, rich sound, but it is annoying that it gets fussy with position.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Joe

Look thru the vintage discman repair thread above... I'm guessing there are limited amounts of things you can do/try given the lack of service manuals and probably repair parts for these.

The first thing I would do if I were you would be to clean and lube the worm gear (if it uses one) and any laser mechanism parts. Beyond that and cleaning the lens, I'm not sure how much you can do.

I do have a very clean and perfectly functioning D34 that I am going to sell, as I prefer the D33 I have.
