Are these legit? AG-0501 MH750 , bought them from a seller in ebay.it
Yes, those are genuine center vent drivers.
If this is not allowed then please remove, but ebay seller rwtf3024 has qty.10 mh750s for $32 shipped (about $35 usd after tax.) No affiliation. I have now received two separate orders, both orders had an even mix of 17w40, 43, 45. Both orders I popped one of each batch open and all were authentic.
If you are going to try modding them, why pay $10-15 for one pair when the alternative is 10 pairs for 2-3× the cost?
With a mix of eyeballing, skill, and luck, I got it right the first time with a 2 pin connector using Trn M10 parts. I have some soldering experience but this stuff is smaller than anything I had worked with before. I am still waiting on some mmcx parts but I expect that to be easier than the 2pin.
Anyway, no guarantee the next batch would be authentic, but this is as good a chance as you will probably get.
The stock cable and mic actually is not bad, I use a pair for work calls, gave a few pairs away to hopefully give some of my friends the IEM bug so I can clear out some of my low/mid level IEMs if they have a few extra bucks.

My headphones finally arrived - MH755 (modded by me) and MH750. I don't know, but after reading how much praise they receive online I have the feeling that mine are not genuine.
In the Frequency Response section here ( https://www.audiocheck.net/soundtests_headphones.php ) I can't hear anything below 50-60 Hz.
Here is a photo of them:

I think I found a legit MH1-BL vendor in the UK, I bought a pair off of him for £5 a while back and it matched what I heard from my first legit black pair. His name on eBay is xccessorydeals and I think he is able to sell to some other countries in the EU. He has them labelled on his store as earphones for different models of Sony Ericsson phones (X1, ST17i and WT13i), he uses photos of the MH1-C in his listings but he has a warning about them not working on newer phones so I am 95% sure he only has this variant. Here's a pic of the white MH1 with my re-cabled MH755's :
and here's a photo of the tags on both pairs :
Hope someone else is able to confirm that the MH1-BL is legit since they're surprisingly cheap (in the UK).

They look genuine to me. Poor seal with the tips?
What are you driving them with? I've had a laptops built in soundcard truncate the bass extension on testing.
You just saved my day! Although I don't know if I should be that happy - apparently, the issue is in my laptop. Tested them on another and they sound great! Thank you! What are you driving them with? I've had a laptops built in soundcard truncate the bass extension on testing.
(Now let's see if this sound card can even be fixed/changed.)
Edit: Reinstalled drivers. It's fixed now. I feel stupid.

That might also be too much wire inside, it reduces the volume and could definitely affect the bass response.

So what combination of center/off-center vented MH70/MH755 is everyone's favorite? Based on the few pages of this thread that I have read, it seems like an off-center MH755 pair is the holy grail, are my general impression correct? Does anyone else hear have different preferences based on what they have tried?

Sony would say otherwise, as the centre vent drivers are actually the later and improved versions for the MH Series..do note that the MH750/755 share the same drivers, the only differences in the longer cable and the microphone option, also the side vented drivers of the MH750/755 Series were only mfg in 2013/14 and have been discontinued and will not appear anytime soon,
Yes, everything in the past is antiquated and rare, so thus maybe you could say it's a Holy grail. IMHO (I own all variants as a collector) my preference is for the newer improved centred vent drivers of the MH755/750 circa 2014-Present ..as its fuller bass and all-rounded, less sibilant and fatiguing, perfect as a daily driver and helps curb my tinnitus too
And also you will be disappointed if you were to try to buy one today, as all mfg 2013, Type AG-0503, MH755s in the wild now are all 101% Fakes, I tried to buy them for the last 6 months and failed, so you won't have to
@belalangtempur did acquire a recently mfg 2019, MH755 with a centre vent driver, but you will have better luck with MH750s as there are more than 10 members of head-fi in this thread alone who successfully gotten authentic/genuine units during the last 3 months.

Interesting, I've seen a couple posts from crinacle over on reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/inearfidelity/comments/bfbw4l/settling_the_score_mh755_vs_mh750/) where he found difference between the MH755/750. Do you think this is a mistake and it's not actually due to the model but rather the fact that the MH755 had the side vent drivers, and the MH750 had the center vent drivers?Sony would say otherwise, as the centre vent drivers are actually the later and improved versions for the MH Series..do note that the MH750/755 share the same drivers, the only differences in the longer cable and the microphone option, also the side vented drivers of the MH750/755 Series were only mfg in 2013/14 and have been discontinued and will not appear anytime soon,

Also figured I'd ask this now so I want have to make another post asking this question, both the MH755's and MH750 side-vent variants were only bundled with their BT receivers correct? Do we know which models they where?

I have mh755 (year 2017) and mh750 (year 2017), already modify mmcx.
Both have centre vent driver, 100% same physical driver.
Going to sound quality, mh750 have strong bass response and mh755 more balance/open.
I don't know where the real different, driver membrane maybe?
Tested by 1 mmcx cable, 1 pair eartips, 1 source.
Both have centre vent driver, 100% same physical driver.
Going to sound quality, mh750 have strong bass response and mh755 more balance/open.

Thanks, @belalangtempur for sharing and confirming that the MH750 & MH755 are one and the same drivers
@kittymilky your the 3rd person who has asked me the same question in this thread, to answer your questions, I have copied and pasted the same answer I have said months ago, and this thread has a multitude of physical evidence contributed by our community to dispel this Myth created on the internet, most likely due to a lack of info, or a non-detailed comparison, as the shells were not popped opened to see the differences in MH750/755 h/w variantsInteresting, I've seen a couple posts from crinacle over on reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/inearfidelity/comments/bfbw4l/settling_the_score_mh755_vs_mh750/) where he found difference between the MH755/750. That's more a side vent vs center vent drivers comparison
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/son...750-mh755-mh1c-ex300-etc.900005/post-15890574
Not possible for them to do an apple to apple comparison then.
They are only different due to the 2 hardware variants from different Era/Year of manufacture,
Authentic MH750 (Newer Center Vent Drivers ) were only released unbundled by China traders from Old Xperia Phones, and the 2013 MH755 was already available earlier 2018/9 in the wild on AE, thus there was no way to compare with side vent driver version of the 2013/14 MH750s as they were not available unbundled and came only with the Sony Xperia Phones back then.
And @dc90 is the only proud owner we know who owns not 1 but 2 extremely rare 2014 Side Vent drivers MH750 in White & Black, which came with his Xperia Phones, in this thread, see a few pages back for the photos proof
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/son...750-mh755-mh1c-ex300-etc.900005/post-15670958
Sony's plan, coming out with a new improved all-rounded, slightly bassier & balanced center vent driver for their MH series was wrecked, ironically due to the unplanned re-release on Aliexpress in 2018/19 of their older iterations mfg 2013 side vent versions. Don't know what the fuss is about, can't really tell the diff. unless A/B and also prefer the newer version as its less fatiguing and awesome for long commute
Thus @crinacle should seriously relook it again (Pop open both MH755 & MH750 shells to show the driver types) and release the truth by doing an actual present-day, apple to apple updated comparison so as to dispel this fan-based myth on the internet that MH755 is better than MH750 or the center vent drivers and the 3.5mm straight audio jacks versions are counterfeits.
And coming back to the true Holy Grail unit , would be from our mate @ShaneyMac with his super rare MH750 Type: CCA 0004018, Mfg 2012 side vent drivers: 12w15 with the Sony Ericsson logo ( The true winner is MH750 Lol and here's the Physical proof)
