why i see different filters of MH1 / MH1C.
just like this, its different from what i have.
Agreed. Different filters are a red flag.
Here’s a MH1C someone recently posted, with like a ‘woven’ criss cross looking filter:
I don’t know what a genuine MH1C filter looks like, so I’m not sure which is the genuine filter.
My knowledge of the fake/genuine is dealing with MH750 and MH755.

From what understand the filters in your pics are the older style filters and the woven ones that slater posted are the newer style. I personally think that these different styles of filters are a big reason the mh1 and mh1c often seem to sound different in favor of the mh1. However I have experienced more problems with moisture clogging up the filter on the older nonwoven style. From pictures on ebay it seems the white mh1c are more often the old style of filter compared to the black mh1c. All this is my speculation so if someone knows better please correct me.
I don't know about filters but until today all of my samples sounded bad, MH1 and MH1c. 1 pair of MH1C i got with Xperia Z1 was also like bassy mess, so i really don't know what kind of quality check happened there.
I never owned a pair with woven filter so i really don't know are they sound any difrent.
I hope you got a good pair .

Has anyone ever successfully recabled the Sony MH1C? I know some have done the MH1 but the earpieces look different.
We have some thin cables to try if it is doable.

The mmcx connectors I ordered finally showed up earlier today. 1st attempted order was Sep 25th, re-ordered after a no show on Dec 1st.
My 2nd go round with mmcx modding mh755's came out pretty nice.
I may go back in and add epoxy or hot glue to guarantee the connection won't pull out. Although this time around I had a proper sized tap to thread the hole.
Not that I foresee issues, as I use disconnect tools anyways. But that extra insurance may be necessary if I let someone borrow them.
