Fell upon this Sony Boodo Khan Body System BBS-10 and it really seems rare as almost nothing on net search shows up. Apparently the precursor to sound chairs maybe. My new in org. box Boodo Khan Body system BBS-10 with seat back woofer/controller, power amp and special boodo headphones -They have TWO plugs one smaller than other... headphones have base driver that is NOT speaker powered separate.. Thus you get SOUND and physical created vibration in the 5-500 Hz range.
The sound of this system is out of this world. Does it sound like live well personally nothing truly does due to spacial size of actual acoustics. I must say the experience of listening to this with ability to adjust seat back woofer intensity and vibrating unit in headphones and sound level you can adjust in 3 full venues and mix to make listening totally different even with same song. I am in AUDIO WALKMAN NIRVANA. Amazing sound as sometimes the bass rattles your body bones and just mid/highs to headphones then the headphones join in with upper bass low tones making head rumble... sometimes its just one,two or can be all three(seat back, lows headphones and med/low to highs headphones) amazing how they separated different lows. Must be some cool crossover. It looks in perfect new condition. I think only 200 made worldwide. Mine serial number is #154. Bought this from a Chicago audio dealer had it since 88 lost back in warehouse. Says never used I believe him now that have. Only ravage of time is foam over drivers headphones inside ear can crumbling/sticky a bit.( any ideas how to repair?), he remembers it as a promotional item sold to large audio dealers. Only thing missing is owner manual but located service manual tonight and ordered.
Regards John

PS anything ANYONE can tell me about this system greatly appreciated or if another member has one lets talk.

Hmm, interesting. I had thought about buying some bass shakers and slapping them on a cheap but comfortable chair and see how that works in replacing a subwoofer while listening to headphones. Never got around to it though.

I figure it'll be one of 3 things.
1.) Neat, but doesn't live up to the theoretical potential.
2.) Completely distracting
3.) You end up with a cool massage effect

#3 has potential in other ways as well (see the ohmibod or the video game Rez).

I've seen pics of people that strapped shakers and subs to a chair for some serious sim racing.

You could actually do it all yourself, if you really wanted to.

Perhaps one day I'll put something together...

Whahaaaaa!!

I've been wondering about this for years!!  There are 2 or 3 references to the Boodo Khan headset in Massive Attack's 'Blue Lines' album (probably my favourite album ever).

I looked before for them, but didn't know the spelling...

See about 3:55 of the track 'Blue Lines': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi9Jkkf1u6g
and around 2:20 for 'Daydreaming': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoVVe-ErUGQ

Very cool.
