Been very quiet on the Metrum/Sonnet front. A little blog a while back, outlined what’s available for transfer to an SD card (Pic) re Platforms/Hermes & Ambre.
Tbh I don’t know. Earlier this year a new budget model was on the cards and I was asked for a few comments. Nothing further. Cees used to keep me informed even if confidential. I expect to contact them in the next few days so will let you know if any news.
The link just in echoes the subject. There might be a follow up ?? However they are still going strong it seems but there is nothing to report. Previously I’ve asked about upgrades to the Streamers for example, as various hacks have been reported by users. They have been tried but without significant improvement. That’s good in some respects – too many Brands churn out new models each year, with only minor changes – sometimes just cosmetic. Just a sales conveyor belt, to keep them in business.

The World is constantly evolving. Brands need to as well. Consumers invest huge sums in those products and need the assurance that the firm is alive and kicking. Not on life support. No press. No hype. Nothing new for years. It isn't good.
I agree but just my opinion. I'm sure they will be aware of that letter but I'm following up with the link as it's timely. Bit of a coincidence it just popped as we were discussing and no, not me in disguise. I've had similar comments too over time but as Srajan mentions different management style, which is working well apparently.

@George Hincapie buying someone's product is not equal to investing in most cases, unless you have bought company shares or you can talk about ROI along the way. In terms of ROI with audio equipment you usually cannot buy new one and resell it years later at higher price including correction for inflation. As for me personally I like those smaller manufacturers like Metrum, but instead of investing money into PR and other resources I prefer when they work on new products. Secondly I have some audio products that I love the way they are and they do not need any updates nor upgrades: AuroraSound HEADA is one such example. The constant quest and race for something new and FOMO is rather making more harm to the community and real breakthrough than any good.
A good Headfi friend just scored a bargain Octave I for c.Euro200 (that included a hiFace EVO DDC). Both old but … he preferred Octave over a Yggy. A new Review (existing product), is apparently in the pipeline. The letter to Srajan has been noted but as per above Promo comments, Cees never had much of a promo budget, so if you remove reviews and a long delay in new developments, then things obviously go quiet.
But people forget. Take Octave (6 Moons/HiFiCritic) v expensive alternatives. Hex so close to an MSB. Morph v a ToTalDac etc. & “but the totaldac is not as pure-sounding as the Pasithea”. Just opinions of course but money-wise, worth a thought.
Well this is a bummer, but my Sonnet Morpheus seems to be dying. All of a sudden recently, the Homage amp it goes to via XLR became far more quiet and the voltage meters on it barely moved. The DAC is at 0dB and though I didn't think so initially my Envy does seem more quiet than it should be at the same volume as before. Even more quiet via RCA. It still works but I'm having to run all my amps at a higher volume. Anyone have any clue what this could be or how to get this fixed?
I got it used a couple years ago so it's well out of warranty. Definitely ruled out any problem with cables, etc. I also don't think there is some issue with the XLR sockets because RCA is also more quiet than before.

Thanks, I'll see if my partner knows how to do that, but that the voltage meter on the Homage barely moves when connected via XLR and even less via RCA it seems like it must be outputting at a lower voltage now for some reason. I don't imagine the USB in could be the issue as that seems like it would either work or not, and no other way to connect it currently.

Check if -10dB attenuation is On by mistake? With internal jumper engaged and with -10db selected from menu it can go down to -20dB I guess but not sure. However it will impact both XLR and RCA

Thanks, but I've had it for a couple years and never messed with anything inside, it just suddenly put out a much more quiet signal one day and has persisted at that. Fortunately it still works enough for my amps to work still, just have to turn them up far more, and with my Homage have to basically max out volume for some headphones which was previously a defeaning level.

Hello all. I switched from an SU-6 to a Denafrips Hermes for I2S into my Pasithea. I ordered a Cardas cable and finally got it. When I started using the Hermes->Cardas cable -> Pasithea, the sound was there, but I have noise in one channel. Everything was just fine with the SU-6. I'm not sure how to identify what the problem is since I sold the SU-6. USB works fine into the Pasithea. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Vic
