yeah apologies, I don't have a source or ddc using rj45 i2s. one of my main gripes of i2s is there is no standardised interface.. even with hdmi i2s there are different variations. oh well.. was a simple fun test to do and an eye opener of sorts.

Yeah, that pisses me off too.

it is so good to have someone who compared it against Rockna wave light and Chord Dave.
Very difficult to have all good DAC under one roof.

I find it’s kind of a ridiculous comparison to compare the Dave to the Morpheus. It’s apples and oranges. Both of these type of DAC’s could be the best in their respective platforms, and the two will still be on the opposite sides of the spectrum of the type of sound they produce.

I'm not too impressed with Dave alone, it is good with iems lol. With M scaler it will have better tonality. But so F* overpriced

has anyone tried the Sonnet Kratos?

I've heard the older Metrum Forte amplifier, not in my own system but in one I am pretty familiar with. I liked it a lot. Very musical and expressive, somewhat warm, and sounded quite a bit more powerful than the specs would suggest. Downsides - it wasn't the most detailed amp I've heard, and did not sound as open as some of the more holographic amps out there. Certainly not dull or closed in by any means, just wasn't amazing in those particular areas... which is not unexpected given the muscular signature it had.

I don't know how different the Kratos monoblocks might be. I suspect they have many similarities though. If we extrapolate the Morpheus experience compared to the Metrum DACs, that would make Kratos slightly more balanced, with improved top-end air and detail, but still not bright/thin by any means. It also means significantly better value just based on their regular pricing.

Again, I'm just speculating here, but the Kratos monoblocks are definitely worth a try for anyone in the market at that price range. Don't be put off by the seemingly mediocre output (50 wpc into 8 ohms, 95 into 4 ohms) as there should be no problem with all but the most demanding speakers played at high volumes.

New companion to the Morpheus.
Denafrips Hermes feeding signal via i2s on RJ45.

Am I the only one who is hungry for more Pasithea-related news and impressions? I just sent an inquiry to Hifi-Heaven about its possible US availability and I received the following response :

"Not in the foreseeable future.
Sonnet is not sure when they'll be able to produce more due to part shortages...
Shall we get back to you when they resume production?"

Does this mean that it is not available for immediate purchase anywhere? Even in Europe?

Well this is just about my curiosity... I am not in any big hurry to buy a Pasithea since I still enjoy my Morpheus immensely--Thank God!

Still, I would like to hear more about how the Pasithea performs just the same, and about how it compares to the May as well.

Personally, I am TERRIFIED of the release of the Pasithea.
I'm sweating just thinking about its availability.
It's best I don't know when it comes out. Lol.

Shortage is shortage. It doesn’t matter what region.

Here is a comment that I had received from another member regarding the Pasithea.

Hi Ken, just wanted to tell you how good i think the Pasithea is. I think it beats my DAVE. From memory with the Aqua Formula xHD Rev2 I had just before DAVE for over 6 months, I think the Pasithea is likely on par with the Aqua. It is an amazing accomplishment by Cees
