You are right, it is faulty, I'm getting a distorted sound from any source now.

I have been listening to mine all weekend, really enjoying this little gem. I think you will be happy once you get it replaced.

I managed to hear it for a few hours on the iPhone , it is great, but it's not a massive difference from the headphone out, a refinement if anything.
To me,it's enough and the form factor is great!
That was with the To Go 334's,
I'm sure it'll be better from the MacBook.
Will test it against the Explorer soon

Agreed on the iphone out. Much improvement over MBP out! I put some Dual Lock on my iPhone, very handy:

Yes! I've been positively frothing at the mouth for people on this site to catch onto dual lock, it's so much more convenient than those stupid cheap livestrong-esque rubber bands and doesnt cover your screen. More stable, to boot.

upgraded firmware to 1.3 but I am now experiencing random low level cracks and pop. I am using Jriver18 on W7x64. Anybody else experiencing similar issues?

Mine is 1.2 and it cracks and pops very loudly over the music, but I think it's a different issue.
Changing it in the next couple of days

I have the same problem but I'm using foobar and wasapi

try to lower the buffer to 25ms or 50ms
