Some different headphones....

Sounds perfect for me that's the issue I have with the DT990s, the top back half of my ear scrapes alongside them... I am now really considering them, unless there's anything else?

It's hard to go wrong with the d2k. One of my all time favs. It's a touch heavier than the Beyer and kind of floats with little clamp force and very comfy. They cups are quite large and you should have no issue with them I would think. I recommend them often.

GL!!

They're sounding really tempting, how are they with audio quality in contrast to the Beyers? And I don't suppose the AHD5000s are worth the extra money? The AHD2000s are £180 and the AHD5000s are £280...

Try to do a search on the used forum here and find a pair near where you live. Most of the guys and gals here take great care of their hp's and you can often find a like new pair for a good discount.

I'll have a look thanks.

I think I'd be more content with the DT990 pros with a straight cable and some leather pads to be honest but I've heard that the official leather pads for them make the sound worse and the JMoney pads are really expensive for what they are.

Out of the HD598 or the D2000 which is closest to the DT990? Because I do like the detail and sound stage they provide... I'm terrible at choosing which headphones to buy lol.

The d2k is closest to the dt990, with the d2k having more bass impact. The dt990 has the better/bigger soundstage as it is fully open. The d5k is a wonderful hp but I couldn't justify the price hike though over the d2k.

Yeah I think that's what I want, the Dt990 is too smooth and it kinda gets a little boring for me after a while too, when I listen to metal or dubstep I want it to 'shock' me when it drops. And yeah I think I just got a little excited, maybe sense will prevail when I finally go to buy one or the other but right now that D5K is looking so damn good! :p
