Hi guys,

have bought the ARZ version of the AD823 Opamp for my cmoy/portable use. I also have a few of these boards but before soldering I need to know if they are suitable?

I've got several SOIC adapters and Brown Dogs but none have the 2 extra holes from pins 4 and 8 can anyone shed some light before I get the soldering iron out.

Thanks in advance.

You got a DMM? Ohm the pins out. If they map out 1-1, 2-2, etc., then yes they are suitable. If they don't then they aren't. The holes are what is known as a via, which is a plated thru hole used to switch board layers, in this case top to bottom.

Those are vias to get the trace to the other side of the board so they can get past the traces for pins 3 and 7. it could have been accomplished with a single sided board if the traces snaked between pins 2/3 and 6/7.
