If you're going to get PX100s you might as well get over your irrational Koss hate and get KSC75s.

i wouldn't even take my yuin pk3 out on the slopes
last febrary when i went skiiing, took my crappy little flash mp3 player and the stock buds

the buds were dead by day two

so i wouldn't go spending money on nice headphones to use in snow and would buy something with a nice, no questions asked warranty

X2. Crap is the way to go for snowboarding for me. Also if you must have quality px-100 or KSC75. Spend the other 250 dollars on a home rig.

I've spent allot of time on ski hills. Riding has always compramised sound quality because of windnoise, helments help but are not silent. I'm certainly not easy on anything when I snowboard stuffing headphones in pockets and bags taking them out riding for a while getting on the chair tends to damage headphones.

Don't spend alot of cash on them you're not going to be able to hear the highest sound quality and you're going to treat them hard. Look for ease of taking them in/out or on/off, you don't want to waste time screwing around with your headphones on a powder day.

I'd go with JVC gummies for the hill, save your cake for where you'll hear the difference.

You could pick up a pair of HD280 Pros for $100. They're not exactly portable headphones, but from what you've posted it doesn't seem you care much about that. They're fairly small, are well reviewed, and are closed which should minimize sound pollution while you're boarding.

Pair them up with a simple CMOY or a PA2V2 and you're golden, though it's possible to run them directly out of your portable player.

I know you said full sized but I have the Yuin PK1 and love them, much better amped, they are my daily work buds. $130 or so and surprisingly good.

You did say full size though and I am a firm believer in giving people what they want, not what I want, so I will say:

(Out of budget)

(Out of budget, but my pick)

Otherwise just buy yourself some Equations RP-21s.

On a completely unrelated note, I did a ski season in the trois vallee in France, 4-6 hours a day of skiing and boarding almost everyday for 5 months. I saw 3 people killed, 2 would have lived if wearing a helmet. 1 hit a tree, one off a cliff but the worst was a young girl on a board who fell after a jump, was getting up then was hit in the side of her head by another boarder in the air. I won't go into further details but I went and bought a helmet that afternoon.

Your choice of course, just putting it out there. I hope you see something like that before you experience something like that.
