Looking forward to your reviewExcited to try this!
Great to see some products finally ditching MQA.
Unfortunately most dacs willWill the voltage output at full volume or setup as pure DAC present an issue with the thx-789 amplifier?
Unfortunately most dacs will
The 789 in high gain only has a 1.7vrms input limit which is lower than even standard rca line level (2vrms),and way lower than standard xlr output line level (4vrms).
In low or medium gain though the input limit is 7vrms so you'll be fine
I do. It's very convenient for me being a veteran and receiving a small discount. Makes it very affordable.I have no idea why it took so long to realize nobody uses MQA.
I wouldn't say "most of us", many of us would be more accurate. There are many others that like and use Tidal.Would say yes, now we finally don't have to pay extra for a future most of doesn't use or even want. This is best thing a consumer can hope for. Wish everyone would offer this, including dap makers. Would even go further and ditch Bluetooth, wifi in all these devices as well.
In a perfect world every manufacturer would offer their dacs and daps with two sku's one with mqa, Bluetooth, wifi and one with just pure focus on music without all these features.
I'd rather have the flexibility, myself. Horses for courses...Speak for yourself here, you are one of few that believe that Bluetooth sounds good. I'll take cables every single day and moment. Would never ever want those features. For me those are just extra costs for features that can not hope to compete with cabled connection. A good sounds better on everything. Just cause you have your biases doesn't mean others perceive it the same way.
Ananda BT. Very close to the wired version. Some say Deva too.According to Qualcom they have a new chip out.... will be nice when we have nice wireless headphones that sound as good on bluetooth as they do wired... wont' be long now
What is Qualcomm Snapdragon sound?
Qualcomm adds Bluetooth Lossless Audio Technology to Snapdragon Sound. ... aptX Lossless is a new capability of the proven aptX Adaptive technology and a new feature of Snapdragon Sound™ Technology that is designed to deliver CD quality 16-bit 44.1kHz lossless audio quality over Bluetooth® wireless technology.
I would not say that getting a discount on nothing is something, but you enjoy the illusion all the same, sir.I do. It's very convenient for me being a veteran and receiving a small discount. Makes it very affordable.
One man's trash is another man's treasure, haha. I'm able to stream my music from my laptop via USB at a high bitrate or send my music over APTX BT with my phone or tablet when I don't feel like remaining still - all while having the convenience to choose formats and streaming options - and while still sounding better than the majority of "regular consumers'" music and at a price that's easy for me to afford. I call that a win, win, win, situation... Did I say win?I would not say that getting a discount on nothing is something, but you enjoy the illusion all the same, sir.
ORT
MQA does nothing. It is ENC but if you feeeeeel it makes the music "better", by all means, pay for the privilege of being lied to. I have yet to meet anyone that can prove there is a difference. I pay for my music services or purchase CDs and records but to Hell with Stuart's BS.One man's trash is another man's treasure, haha.
