Wow, this thread makes me both happy and a bit sad at the same time. Thanks to rise to the top for starting it.

I was a high-level racer back in the day, and had a rack of skis like our OP. I used to spend my summers at camps, both in Montana and at Mt. Hood, and raced all through HS and off and on in college. My last pair of skis that I held onto was an old racing-stock pair of Rossignal 4S slalom skis - at 203 cm!! I had the old Lange Banshee XL (the BRIGHT orange ones), and Salomon bindings. Oh, and the whole run of old school Demetre and Silvy Tricot and Spyder and CB Sports outer and race wear too.

I owned two pair of SL and two pair of GS skis, and had one pair of SG skis that I used for speed events. I'm from the midwest, so we didn't get much opportunity to do super g or downhill (waits for someone to make a wise crack about GS being a speed event in the midwest).

I've not skied for 10+ years...start with location (greater Detroit area), add in cost, a wife who doesn't ski, and an exploded ankle that kept me on crutches for 4+ months and was at some point going to be reconstructed. I still get the itch every year to go, and for the last several years I've been talking to old skiing buddies about going to Mt. Hood for some summer skiing. Maybe next year...I'm going to get some new equipment, and we're taking the kids skiing for the first time too. Man oh man, if you think that THIS hobby is expensive!!

Just out of curiosity - have any of you heard of SnowH20? Its a heliskiing op up in Nelson BC...

Haven't really used the randonee feature yet, only really good for hiking flat without skins but they're great for alpine.
