The detach on hard impacts, ie, if you wipe out and you lean on your pole they will detach to prevent pole breakage. Also, the Viper series is Alu-Carbon, which is much better than Carbon. Less rebound chitter, and stronger. In the event that the trigger system fails to release, the poles will bend before snapping, compaired to snapping like pure carbon would do, which is deadly.

My Tecnica Diablo Pro's (w/ custom footbeds from Larry)

and Rossi Zenith Z9's I got this year.

I really need new goggles, choosing between the new Zeal Optics spherical/polarized/photochromatic Detonator or Link $200, Smith Phenom with polarized rose copper lenses for $180, or Scott Witness w/ amplifier lense or bronze chrome amplifier, which are only $75. Oakley's don't fit my face and so far the Scott's fit better than the Smith's. Gonna try on a Zeal tomorrow. Anybody have any experience with the Zeal?

Edit: got the Zeals! They're badass...they have more and better features than anyone else.
