Singxer SU-6

Are you sending the clock signals from the T+ to the Gaia - if so, would it be possible for you tell us how the Gaia & SU6 compare without this additional measure. For those of us without the T+ this will be a more meaningful comparison.
Without sending the clock signals from the T+ to the Gaia the sound from the Gaia is richer and deeper with better sound stage compared to the SU-6. The difference to my ears is not small. Adding the reclocking between the T+ and Gaia just makes it more so.

Since the Sagra DAC is already rich and textured I don't want to add anymore richness to its sound. For me, the SU-6 added more clarity and resolve. It also opened up the sound dramatically by adding some spaciousness and air around the notes. The SU-6 added some attack to the Sagra's sound that I thought was missing. The notes aren't as rounded as they were before I added the SU-6.

The Gaia was tailor made for the T+ and I'm sure it's an outstanding pairing that I would love to hear :)

The original query was about connecting the SU-6 to a Denafrips Venus 2 DAC.

An update for those with issues with USB sleeping. There's a setting in the device manager for each USB port. I disabled the setting "allow pc to turn off" but I havent tried it yet. I was looking to return it but not sure if I want to pay shipping back internationally yet. I also reached out to support and they said it might be a setting in the BIOS which is causing this issue. For those keeping it, let me know what you find out. If anyone is interested in a 2 week old SU-6, let me know.

I just disabled them on all the root USB hubs. That way anything I have connected to them won't turn off. We'll see what it does.

Thanks for the research. I hope you keep the SU-6 as it's been a nice performance upgrade for me with the Sagra DAC.

Avoid USB sleeping or signal cutting by disabling /turning off all power management on your USB ports in the Device Manager by setting it to Always on /Performance Mode.

This is a known issue in windows not only to Dac's but other USB devices as well such as printers, hdd portable drives etc.

Trying to hook up my SU-6 from MCLK out to Dangerous Music Convert-2 MC In, and cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the signal through.

Using a BNC coax cable (identical both ends)

If anyone has input (ba-dum tiss) for me, I’d be greatly appreciative

In the properties settings for the SU-6, in the Advance tab, do you see an option for 32 bits at any frequency? I’m using an AES/EBU cable and all I see is 24 bit options.
How does one access the SU-6 properties settings ? So far I am only finding the Control Panel ( and BTW in the Control Panel I am offered 16bit or 24bit depths ) thanks

Hi All,

My SU-6 arrived about 5 days ago - Even though the Gaia might be a little more revealing with my Venus 2 DAC, the Denafrips USB driver disables the master volume which does not suit my system. My home made pre-amp does not have a remote function so do fine tuning with a windows remote.

I just finished reading through this thread - great to have access to the knowledge & feedback of everyone here.

My system is: Desktop PC W10 Foobar2000 - USB - Streambox S2 Ultra in PC/USB mode - USB - Singxer SU-6 - HDMI I2S - Venus 2 - SE o/p - DIY 24V batt powered Pre-amp ( stepped attenuator with Susumu RG2012 resistor driving into BJT compound feedback pair ) - DIY Class A amp ( MOSFET o/p JLH Simple class A ) - DIY Transmission Line Speakers 8" Bass/Mid & Ribbons.

So far the SU6 is giving much more well defined bass & richer midrange detail

All digital leads are pretty basic at present so will be experimenting with that.

I would be interested if anyone has compared the Streambox S2 Ultra with the ifi Nano iGalvanic3.0
When I tried taping over the USB plug for a more simple earth isolation method Foobar crashed with complete regularity after a few seconds of playback - I may try a resistor rather than complete isolation to see that that fixes this and if so see how it sounds compared to the Streambox

At present the system sounds perhaps a little too smooth which is a problem I have not encountered before !
