My Nad C350/C541i and Wharfedale Pacific PI30s were bought in a combo deal. Think they were £1100. Various SWMBOs have questioned the sanity of that purchase (at the time that was over a month's wages) but after 16 years with the only repair being a potentiometer tweak in the CD player I think I got my money's worth.

I was astonished to discover it is so old. But not as old as the speakers, amp and pre-amp. I bought those in 1976.

Probably it's time to replace them.. after 40+ years

I was told by a reliable source that I'd need NZ$50,000 (presumably to replace everything). I haven"t got that sort of money. I went into pretty deep debt to buy the Quad ESLs and 33-303 as it was. Same for the PD-131 and SME III, only in that case I used lay-by. It seemed to take ages before I was able to pick up that turntable!
