I use the Geekria PJZ-0007-02. It works well for me.

I've thought about it. Looks like a Beyer headband could be a straight swap, but so far haven't been able to find anywhere selling the headband parts independent of the headphones ¬_¬

Yes, I do. I find these to be deeper then most other closed backs I've heard, including SRH940, M500, DT1350, SRH840, and K550.
These shures do like a good source and amp. AK100 is awesome, but a good amp really makes these shine as well. What set up did you use? Using 24/96 flac with AK100, I get a very good sense of space and depth.

The Shure SRH1540s with Moon Audio Silver Dragon cables, and a Questyle QP1R is damn near an out-of-body experience!

Kooka :beerchug:

Alex : DT990 and shure are different. Shure has a bump in the bass. Shure has less high. Also more détails, more precision. I move with pleasure from a DT990 to a shure (well some brain burn in needed because of the sound signature).

By the the shure is not really hard to pair with something. Pretty easy to drive.

Hello

I dont think : bump in bass, High-mids at the hospital. You need a more neutral headphone

Just received a set of SRH1840 pads and replacement Beyer headband. The headband didn't fit, so if you're thinking of giving it a go, I've saved you the trial & error! The 1840 pads on the other-hand are a really quite interesting on the 1540. Bass definitely reduces in presence and isolation takes a hit, but mids come forward and things generally sound more open and expansive. Worth the €18.
