Interesting comment.  I owned both - still have the 535 Special Edition.  Even at the $450 I paid, it was well worth it.  The B2 is a good IEM (great value for money).  But in my opinion definitely inferior to the 535.

I like IEMs on the bright side. Maybe that's why. I like the 535 mids but the highs seemed sort of veiled.

You should try the SE535 Reds (Special Edition) then.  I bought mine from A2A.  Check with George and see if he has a pair he'd let you demo.  At $399 it's a seriously good buy.  Better fit, better build, and (IMO) much better sonically than the B2.  If you note my sig - I also like the brighter side of things (K701, DT880, SR325i)

I have an 535 red too but I find it too slow and too unforgiving for some of my genres. well at least they complement my XBA3 well.

I don't think that I'll be buying them unless they are better than my UM Miracles which I'm pretty sure they are not. The red does look a lot better than the other colours though. The new SE846 looks interesting.

I got mine from an authorised sure dealer for $350
 
They still sell the RED version? Do they sound different? I looked at them before I got my regulars but all I could find was ebay JDM ones

The reds have slightly better highs.
