it was not so much just sound quality, to be honest ipod's are just plain old boring now, i just wanted something different and that was just better standard.

im not one for bothering with imod's and the like.

after about 2hrs work and a little stress, my DIYMOD sounds better than any DAP i've ever heard. sounds better straight up; but after the caps burn in OMG
