Since the E4 and E3 were discontinued, these are their replacements, and I don't think there's any sonic difference between the E and SCL series.

Edit: According to this thread the only difference is a slightly different cable and a groove in the earphones.

This works out perfect for me.

Go away for the holidays, come back, headphones ship, and around New Year's I have another IEM to try.

How are the cables on these? I thought Shure cables were known to fall apart. I don't want to spend $79 on something that's going to fall apart.
