Is the new SE Shure line better than the old EC?

FYI (because the title seem to be a bit confusing):
E2c -> SE110
E3c -> SE210
E4c -> SE310
E5c -> SE420
E500 -> SE530

Thanks Clie,

now, why most of the people still prefer the old line? Is it because they are cheaper, or because the new line doesn't offer great advantages?

Shure e4c $175 ; Shure SE310 $249. Is it worthy to pay around 40% more for a similar IEM, same brand?

Those se310s are way overpriced. You can get a pair for around $150 on ebay, like here

Personally, I preferred Shure SE310 over Shure E4 in SQ. The SE310 just seemed a bit more fun to listen to. However, the difference is pretty small I believe. The same goes to Shure SE210 vs. E3 - they are both very similar sounding. On the other hand, I heard that the SE420 is a pretty significant improvement SQ wise over the E5 because of better quality crossover between the drivers. I have never heard SE420 though, only the E5 which I thought was a very good sounding IEM - better than UE Super.fi 5 Pro IMO.

Wow! That SE310 has a great price... I'm just concerned for a fake Shure on eBay. On the other hand, I trust Amazon 100%.

Another question about eBay purchases: if I need to replace the IEM under warranty, do I need to deal with the seller or with Shure directly?
