I am using the SHP9500 - I still have the K702 laying around collecting dust that I’m trying to sell. It’s clamping is just too uncomfortable. I’m only able to wear them for 1 hour at a time. It was the same for K701. K712 Pro was definitely better to wear. - soundstage on the K702 is too unrealistic. enemies in COD who were nearby seem more far away than they actually were and never really mastered the way it presented them. Every headphone you change to has a subjective learning curve
However K702 when people were shooting very from very far it was very realistic and precise direction wise. I would favor them when it comes to long distance combat, but for close range and inside buildings where you have to pinpoint enemies coming around the corner and such definitely SHP9500 has the advantage.
I preferred the K701 over the K712 Pro, K702 and maybe even SHP9500 for raw competitive feedback. K701 is quite sibilant tho. the SHP9500 is more pleasing maybe because it has a little bit of bass without being to much whereas K701 has none. and SHP9500 is much more comfortable to wear for long hours. SHP9500 has a learning curve too to learn coming from AKG’s K-series, but once you have gotten used to them, they are great!
K702 has a cleaner sound where different audio cues are clearly separated and not congested. My brain has to work much less in processing the sound when gaming with the k702. To benefit from this advantage you have to use a powerful amp. What amp did you use with the k702?
