It's a toss up like others said can be a collectable the price of these are shooting through the roof right now. End the end it's your move though

I suspect it is not real U2 iPod.
Although it shows matchng serial number on the back cover, machine and iTunes, there is little sign of opening in the corner.

Is there any method to check if it is a real one?

you have checked the serial numbers and it showed the model and version it is like here:

if it comes up as the u2 ipod ect i would say its the real one, but thats just my opinion
