FWIW, Shure replaced my E500s with SE530s due to cracked cable. There is a form on their web site. They do want proof of purchase and want the purchase from an authorized dealer (which is poor customer service for a $500 item IMO), but they did replace them.

Buy anything but don't buy tf10s if your ears are senstive and small.. I just got my tf10s they sound good but man they are huge... I am super frustated with their size....can get the to sit comfortably in my ears.

You can't go wrong with the SE 530's. They sound great and if you have any issues, Shure is known for their great customer service.

Sound is awesome, but is it $500 dollars awesome...no. If you can get it for cheaper say 300, then I'd say it's worth it, but not 500...that is a rip off.
