I've been using my E3X's for 14 years and they have served me well. I'm a church musician who plays sax and flute but for the past 5 years have migrated to mainly playing bass. My left ear drivers are no longer working properly and need the whole thing rebuilt.
I know technology keeps moving forward but am wondering if anyone knows how the Westone E3X's stack up against today's offerings?
I know the sound signature for the E3X's tend to be a bit more forward in the mids which worked well as a sax player, but should I consider switching to something else now that I play mostly bass but still some sax and flute? Perhaps something like the Ultimate Ears RR which should be more versatile?
One thing I really liked about the E3X's is the heat molded ear tips that allowed for great comfort and seal when wearing them.
Any advice is greatly appreciated
