Purk

Well, Purk, I joined the club. The 555ES left this morning. Here's hoping the mods are all Nightfall, Mark and Tom speak so highly of are all they're cracked up to be. Anxious to get her back and see what Matt's work will do for her. Let me know when you get yours back and your impressions.

KenW,
Temptation my friend. I'm sure it is money well spent. I will let you know how I think of it. BTW, my HGA silver lace IC is very amazing. Super deep bass, w/ excellent instrument seperation.

My C555ES sacdmod is here. Still need about 120 hours to complete the "burn in" process. The modded unit is simply amazing. More later.

Yeah Purk, tell us how its different. I'm waiting on the return of my unit with the ZapFilter so I'd love to hear your initial impressions. It's been 2 weeks so I'm hoping I can remember what the old sound was like, but I think I'll manage.

Man I am still sitting here bummed out that I did not get my 963sa in before SACDmods.com left for school.

Cheers to all the cats who were able to get their units modded!

C'mon, man...you can't leave me hanging like that! Give me something...throw me a bone. "Amazing" won't cut it either. I want details...differences between stock and mod. Gimme everything!

Don't forget, you're just a couple of hours away by Harley. Don't make me come down there!

Let me put it this way:

Red book performance on the modded C555ES player is on par to the SACD peformance on the C555ES (w/ OPA627) and C222ES sacdmods tested using Diana Krall "when I look into your eyes" SACD and CD. This translate to slightly better performance in comparison the stock C555ES playing the SACD disc.

Redbook Modded C555ES = SACD modded C222ES = SACD C555ES w/ OPA627 installed and Redbook Modded C555ES > SACD stock C555ES

SACD performance on the modded player is simply astounding. Your SACD won't sound the same. I can't believe the musical details from many of my SACD disces, including, Pinkfolyd-Dark Side of the Moon, Dave Brubeck-Take Five, and Diana Krall-The Girl in the other room and when I look into your eyes. The modded C555ES has amazing musical details with spectacular bass performance. The soundstage, seperation of instrument, imaging are near perfect. I wish I own a speaker system already. I need more time to evaluate the player. It is not burn in yet.

SACD modded C555ES > Redbook Modded C555ES

The difference b/w the stock unit and the modded unit is more than the difference b/w a basic META42 amp and Maxed Out PPA on SACD disc!!!.
