I noticed on that on the USA Ebay, Germany and Austria, there there are no K1000's for sale...usually there are at least a few...even on Head-Fi......wonder what's going on?

It sucks that some truly great products go out of production. Not just K-1000, but also the Grado HP-1, HP-2, and PS-1, Sony CD-3000 and R-10.

Might as well add L3000 and some of the other enjoyable ATOWs like the W10VTG.

Yeah, it seems like K1000 are scarce on the used market these days.

Whenever I've had a look on the auction sites for K1000s I've never seen any for sale. Makes me glad I'm not really hanging out for a pair.

There's been quite a few pairs posted in FS section lately.

They were originally marketed for studio use. If I were serious about getting a pair, I'd put ads in some studio professional magazines or forums. With 12,000 built, someone should have some extra pairs around.
