The MS-2 has a flatter reponse curve and a more laid back presentation. If you imagine your MS-2 with bowls, add a little "vibrance" to the treble then subtract some bass detail/control and have the singer charged up on caffein you get a picture of the sound of MS-1 with senn pads i.e not as neutral or accurate but fun to listen to nonetheless.

HI: I listen to the MS-1 for 14 hours yesterday through last night till 3/30 am. What a true pleasure. I had gone to a bass head headphone and boy how I missed the upfront and detail sound of the grados. LOL. The Alessandro MS-1 are more relaxed sound than my old 225 but still lots of fun to listen to but not as fatiguing. I bought the MS-1 as soon as I read about the headphile C Pads adapter/pads. I hope to get them sometime next week or so. Headphile said they will give better bass and sound stage with great comfort. I can hardly wait.

I think he's sold most if not all of them before he got the MS-1. As for collecting, that amazes me too. Even if I had only the MS-1 and SR-60, the SR-60 would just end up in a corner collecting dust.

HI: I don't collect grados. I sold them all. The 225 are a great headphone but I am finding the MS-1 to also be a great headphone. I am starting to think the MS-1 might be a better headphone over the 225 because of the more relaxed sound but still lots of fun to listen to. The biggest advantage is the MS-1 are not nearly as fatiguing as the 225 at half the price.

What would you say make the MS-1 less fatiguing than SR-225, I'd guess it's the less aggressive treble maybe?

Ah, ok that makes sense. I thought I just saw someone post a picture of all his Grados a while ago. I thought it was some Grado fan thing to collect them.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking into getting the 225, but if the MS1 is close at half the price, maybe that would work out better. I'd hate to see my trusty and loyal 60 gather dust without meaning, though.

HI: Alessandro has tweeked the MS-1. It is just the overall sound. There is great bass,mids and highs but at a very pleasant pace. You would have to hear the 225 and MS-1 to judge for your self.

HI: If you do buy the MS-1 you can get it in the 1/8 with 1/4 adapter. I use the 1/8 in my portable radio and don't need a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter like I did with the 225. When you order choose the bottom choice that says cable with 1/4 adapter. That is the 1/8 plugg.

Yeah I have read a lot about the SR-225, but seeing how they cost $400 in Europe (thanks Grado!) I never bothered with them after I read about the MS-1 shipping everywhere for $99 in total and with a miniplug I got them instead and have been really satisfied with them. A clear improvement over SR-60.

HI: OK now to soup the MS-1 up. The headphile C pad Alpha adapter/pads might take the MS-1 to a new level in sound and comfort. Also the Senn. 490 headband add to the comfort also and then you will have a very souped up MS-1. LOL.
