I have a Predator DAC/AMP.
Using it with a pair of ED9's.
I have to use a phono to mini connect with the Predator.
I have to jiggle the cable/connectors to get sound to both sides of the headphones to get a good feed.
Since I have only used my ED9's in this configuration- it may even be the headphone cable (?)
Something is not making a solid connection. Not sure what's to blame:
the connectors or the Predator Amp.

I never liked the idea of using a mini plug adaptor with the ED9's.
But how else would I listen to a ipod/macbook or portable amp?
How do you guys handle this situation?
Anyone know of a place I can get a female phone to mini plug cable?

Do you have another amp to try...it could be the adapter, you may want to try another one, it could be the amp jack...

Grado makes a nice 1/4 to mini but any DIY'r could make you one

I am having my headphones recabled to mini as I will mainly use them with my portable amp...

I doubt its the ED9s..sometimes long term strain put on the jack by those heavy adapters can cause issues to that female mini.

That sounds like the jack is a little loose. Jacks have three little prongs that contact the plug; one of them is probably bent back a little. If there was a problem with the cable or headphones, it wouldn't play if you jiggled it.

You can open up the amp and bend the prongs back into shape or send it in for repair.
