Hi,

TIDAL has announced the availability of HiRes FLAC: It looks like it will become the top quality streaming over MQA.

The standard Android app has already been updated to cover the new standard (see attached screen shot).

Now @Shanling need to update the TIDAL app version on the EM/EA devices as well, to support FLAC over MQA!

I informed our software team about this last week and they are checking on it.

There seems to be a bit of chaos on the side of Tidal, as some old MQA files are now playing as simple 44.1/48 kHz files, while others are still undergoing full MQA unfolding to 705kHz. So we are checking it on our desktop models, how it interact with the system.

It looks like that the same chaos is on the mobile Android devices: I see the also strange 44.1/48k playback on the M6U for high res content from TIDAL.

Hello guys! Can you please tell me, does your Wi-Fi turn off on shanling em5? I just can’t figure out how close I need to keep the router so that the signal doesn’t disappear (( with other devices everything is fine. Could this be a product defect? Or does the device have a weak signal receiver? My mirroring program on my smartphone screen also freezes a lot... Is there any way to fix this?

Hi,

Go to WiFi choose the 3-Dot menu and check if WiFi signal is set to be always on.
If it is done, also check that the battery settings do not tell your music app to be "optimized".

If that does not help another bug or another defective product to add on the already long list of bugs and defective devices.

But I assume that this will not be considered as a bug but will go as a feature :frowning2:

Hello everyone,

I own the "EM5" streamer. Since the firmware update to version 1.51, there is no sound coming from the headphone jack anymore. In previous posts, I read that I need to select "Headphones" as the output. However, I only have the following three options to choose from:

Preamp Output
Line Out
Phone Output



Could someone please explain to me how I can fix this problem?

I have already reset the device to factory settings, but it did not help.

Just try all 3 :)

Maybe "Phone output" will do.
It might stand for "Headphones".

Just a guess as I do not own the device anymore :frowning2:

And do not forget to turn the VOLUME key - I had the same story as the volume was very low set... :gs1000smile:

I tried 3 different cables, all bought nothing selfmade and I also used all headphone jacks that come with the device.

Before I installed the firmware it all worked well.

@Shanling Hello! Are there any updates on gapless playback on EM5? Do you still support this device?

Yes, we still support EM5.

For gapless, we still waiting for our software team to develop this function for our Android platform. No updates so far.
