Any chance to use Amazon HD or Neutron Player on EM5 ?
Amazon Music is supported on EM5/EA5.

For now only Shanling player can be used for playback of local fiels.

@Shanling How many years will the Android operating system be supported?
We are launching this system on quite a few machines across multiple Hi-Fi brands and we will be providing support for them for quite a while. But I can't give you exact promise.

Are you going to do something with this issue? It really is unfortunate one.
Yes, it's key function that's unfortunately missing in our app. But so far our software team wasn't able to implement it and not sure when it might be.

Might be a dumb question, but are the power output ratings on your website per channel or combined? I have the EM5 in the mail and I’m trying to decide which headphones to upgrade to. I want to make sure I’ll have the power to push something like the Arya before I bring them into consideration.

So, since you have been trying to do this for a while in your DAP's, and are not there yet, do you think the will relax the Android OS for the EM5 to allow the use of another player?

We proposed this few times to our management, but so far no decision on allowing other apps on EM5.

Bought my EM5 yesterday. My first impressions with local music, punchy bass, good voices specially female and sometimes harsh trebles, both using EM5 as pre connected to my onkyo amplifier via coaxial and also with my beyerdynamic t5 3rd gen (32 Ohm). Left my EM5 playing all the night and today morning what a difference. All changes. Open soundstage, bass controlled, beautiful voices, excellent treble, instruments separation. Btw, sadly no gapless playback for local music. My other problem, can not connect Eddict player iOS to my EM5 (tried wifi 2G and also 5G). My Eddict player can not see EM5 using the latest firmware version. Thank you in advance @Shanling support team

More facts. Qobuz online and offline working well, in both cases connected to onkyo amplifier via coaxial. Tidal, no sound via coaxial!!!!. So strange. I suggest to implement in a future firmware update an option to select output (coaxial, optical, line out), as you @Shanling and others do with your android daps. In fact there is an option select input but not output. I think is very easy to implement. Any other users report such a problem with no sound on tidal via coaxial output?

Shanling started as a traditional Hi-Fi company, designing and manufacturing machines for home hi-fi and stereo speakers. But in last few years, we focused more on the portable market, with our players, earphones and Bluetooth products. But this is changing in 2021 and we are going back to our roots of home audio.

Following our unique M30 modular desktop system, we are going to release two more products for desktop and stereo speaker systems. Let us introduce our new EM5 and EA5 streamers.

Both of these devices are built around the same digital player system, offering access to main streaming services, DLNA, Airplay, Bluetooth and local playback. All controlled through the touch screen on top of the device or via app on your phone or tablet.

EM5 is designed as a DAC/AMP for high-end headphones, with a range of different connectors, including balanced XLR and 4.4mm. It can also be used as a DAC and pre-amplifier when combined with a separate power amplifier or active speakers.

On the other hand, EA5 is working as an all-in-one streamer. While it lacks the balanced outputs and offers just a single ended headphone output, it adds in a full integrated amplifier, so it can be used directly to power your speaker system.

Which one will be the right one for you?

EA5 Specification

These are very intriguing! Is there any place in the US to hear a demonstration, or has Shanling considered the potential of a product tour? I realize tours are a bit of an investment, but if Shanling desires more reviews on either of these products, I would be interested :)

Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, Deezer, Amazon HD, more to be added.
DLNA, Airplay, Bluetooth.
Airplay may be a suitable workaround, but are there plans to include Android support for Apple Music? I have Tidal and Spotify as well, but Apple Music’s lossless and hires lossless files would be nice to use :)

I don't know if you use Tidal playlists, but obviously you can't edit playlists with EM5 player. So you need Tidal player anyway?
