Somebody knows? The amplification could function well with headphones of higher impedance?
Unhappyly he is not tubes, but it seems a good price for a Shanling with player + to amplifier, not?

It is listed at around US$250 for a 230V version in Hong Kong, but being sold at promotional price at around US$220. It is a new model introduce in Q2 2007.

The voltage is NOT user selectable. So, for North America, one would need to look for a 110V a.c. version.

Very good build quality, good specs, good remote and pretty good sound. The headphone amp is also pretty good. It seems that it is only available in black anodised finished. Blue LCD displayed, which can be dimmed or turned off. Use IEC plug so one can use his favorite power cord as well, although one cheap cord comes with the player.

Shanling is a well established brand in China, and quite successful with its CD players. It is also doing a lot of production work for other OEMs in Europe. Having used it for 2 weeks I would say this is a reliable and good value CD Player.

even visiting several China based headfi forums and came up empty; you figure they would be the 1st to test drive this thing.
