OK, I have downloaded the latest firmware, set date and clock and wifi. I now have Google Play services, but how do I get Tidal from Google Play, or is there somewhere else to get it? For those interested, my hands are smallish for a white man. M9 is not too big. It also has a bit of style. As soon as I break mine in, I will comment. This morning, I just paused breakin to finish up set up.

Just changed my M9 break in from internal music files to that Tara Labs break in cascade noise file that I copied to a micro SD memory chip. Very easy. Download file from Tara Labs to the downloads folder on your computer. Then transfer file to a small micro SD card. Remove music micro SD card from your DAP and insert Tara Labs file card. Update your music files on your DAP, then set DAP to continuous play and play Tara Labs file at least 0ne week. Don't forget to plug your DAP in for charging.

I dropped my player the other day luckily it didn't leave a mark. I'd touch that up with a dab of black satin(?) paint from a thin brush, most things get marked eventually. Yes you're right you'd expect a case to protect the edges.

I dropped my M8 and it landed exactly on the top corner where the case don't cover. My mint unit now has a nasty ding...great case design, Shanling!

For some reason the Tidal app in Play store shows us not compatible with M9, we are looking into it.

Meanwhile, you can install it through APKPure app on the M9.

I think the M9 has the lowest noise floor from any android dap I’ve ever tried. It’s completely silent with Campfire Andromeda’s using the 4.4mm port. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that before! I’ve been able to detect hiss with Andromeda on every dap I’ve had in the past. The only exception is the Sony DMP-Z1.

You will notice I don't have the M9. Yet. Heheh! It is still mysteriously on its way to Singapore. Perhaps it's gone in a frolic of its own...
