Now, with the M8, every song is 'perfect' volume, I have not had to adjust the volume for one song... why is that?

First firmware update for M8 is scheduled to be released next week.

Just received my Shanling M8...absolutely superb! On par with A&K SPK2000. Blows my A&K SP1000M away! Perfect balance between technicalities and musicality. Deep, rich, layered bass. Smooth, detailed top end. Excellent EQ...Dynamic, perfect timber... this is a WINNER, folks!

Oh, absolutely. To be fair I owned the 1A and was less than crazy about it... I thought it was very dark. The M8 sound has perfect coherency. It is rich and full and dynamic, yet spacious and clear and detailed. There is a rich musicality, yet delicacy about it. It has scaled up my custom Valkyries into something...looking for words...elevated. There is room for every instrument to breath. There is light and dark...chiaroscuro, if you will. It is a wonderful, fun, rich, sonic landscape filled with mystery and detail: I hear things in songs I know by heart I have never heard before. There is air and space between the notes, and all this majesty is presented effortlessly... I was up at 5am making coffee dancing in the kitchen to Come On Eileen, of all things. It brings rich doses of tonality to every thing it touches, you will feel like every earphone you own, and every song you listen too, is suddenly resurrected with a new body... In all honesty, it is on the level of my Yggy DAC.... It is emotional. I have grown tired of certain albums I have been listening to for years, like Tonight, by Bowie. I was sitting at my desk listening to Loving The Alien, staring off into space, hypnotized and drooling.... I am honored to be able to listen to music at this level.

I recommend if anyone has EX1000 from Sony, it has excellent synergies in signature, performances, staging. Also recommend cables materials with Litz copper Cables if you would like sweeter highs, Litz silver cables if you like more sub bass and sparkles in high
