SE or balanced?

Single ended.
I was now making a listening session, it's really nice. The details are crazy nice. 👌
I think i have to stay at the M8, a really hard choice!

@Shanling: is it possible for you to make a setting for sounding? One for neutral and another for the M6 pro sounding. That would be unique and no other DAP manufacturer have something like this.
Please think about an update for this option.🙏🙏🙏

You can try to play around with digital filters setting, that might help little bit.

But M6 Pro and M8 are simply using different DACs and amplifier circuit(even if that one is based on same principle), there is no simple setting to make them sound like each other. You pretty much asking for pre-set Equalizer, that would be trying to mimic something.

SE200 is interesting but someone said sound awful compared to SA700 and or SP1000m.
I’d like to test Hiby R8 and Shanling M8 but even here if M8 isn’t a big step over my M6 pro I’ll give up.
Also iBasso DX300 is coming...

SE200 to me is extremely resolving and very analytical, more so on the AKM DAC, less on the ESS DAC's. SA700 is very mid focused and gets warm fast. SPM1K/2K not listened, nor able to remember accurately to compare. M6 Pro is a solid DAP, M8 presents a more neutral signature versus the warmer M6 Pro with the former offering more features and a lot more weight to carry about. Hiby R8 bigger and heavier again versus the M8, let alone the 4G stainless steel version, getting ever closer to the DX220MAX...

Upcoming A&K Kann Alpha (1st A&K with 4.4 balanced), Cayin N3Pro (with tubes) & Hiby R6 MKII look to be interesting.

Q-6

Thank you for the Info.
EQ is useless, because it's not global for all music apps and some apps have no EQ.
The filter are not enough for my taste.
So i will sell the M8 and go back to the warm sounding M6 Pro.
