It sounds like the same 2.0 firmware update that went live a few weeks ago. Confused, but also perfectly happy with my M5.

On my headphone, a Focal spirit professional, soundstage is a bit larger but bass sound a little bloated. It does not sound bad, I certainly cannot say that, but it feel less refined for me.

So, nobody is trying it??

The firmware JVC edition is a special tuned version for FX1200 from JVC (Victor Studio), and with no digital filter.

We offer a combo of M5+FX1200 in 2016, in association with JVC China. This is why we had a special version.

Thanks.

wow... interesting...

@Shanling, is there any difference on the hardware? of this special edition and the normal M5?

Is the "no digital filter" mode also accompanied with 1x over sampling (~~ Non-oversampling)?

Thank you! So it does explain why it wasn't a good match with my headphone.

@Judge584, so you tried this special firmware? can you explain what you heard? and what headphone you are using with?

Same here, I went back to the original M5 2.0 (25.11.2016).
I did not like the latest firmware sonically either. For me personally is with less details and more "harshness", even with more fatigue after long listening.
Same results with headphones, B&O BeoPlay H6 Dj Khaled Edition, and home system, Denon POA-S10 + Jamo Concert 11.
