Shanling H7 - High-End Portable DAC/AMP/Player, Featuring new AKM AK4499EX Flagship DAC

Turn the CONTROL wheel right & hold for 2 seconds to go to next folder
Uff, not sure if we want to be adding more complicated button combinations to the navigation. Will see.
Please tell the developers to think about it. When playing H7 from an sd card, the most optimal thing is to make 2 clicks with the right wheel to go to the next folder, 3 clicks lock. (now 2 clicks are lock). No other options will work. Or, in the settings, add an option that, instead of locking both wheels, will go to the next folder with a double click, and back with a triple click. Then it will be great.

If those 2 things are implemented I'm gonna buy it. Having an opportunity to use the H7 without a need of having a smartphone with me and having a full blown search option on eddict player? This would crash the competition.
But this could also harm Shanlings dap department and that's why I'm suspicious if they really want to implement these functions.
Is this true? I thought adding these nice features would do more good than harm for Shanling’s competitiveness in the market, perhaps I am wrong.

I meant it could crush Shanligs competitors:)
Actually the current Shanling DAPs can do yet the same If turned into DAC mode, advantage is lower footprint and lower price here.
Am interested how the new Shanling M9 successor will perform but that ll be a TOTL brick, so different use case - or maybe not If adding the bulk of mobile phone and H7 together 🤫

I meant that the h7 has the potencial for being very successful but the functionality holds it down.
There are no extra costs for an Android implementation, no need for a big screen, so most of the costs of production go into audio hardware. This makes the price to SQ performance ratio very attractive.
But the Shanligs app is very limited in search functions and there is no option for browsing through the folders from the player level.
All this make the H7 an unpolished gem.

@Shanling Can you implement some kind of sound to let you know when the battery is low? Because now it's a surprise when the device turns off. :)
Are you planning a fix for Eddict Player that will allow you to load album covers from a file? Web searches are poor or not always effective.

We are not really planning adding any audio signals that battery is low. While common on Bluetooth devices, it's not something you would see on DAC/AMPs.

At this time it seems sofware team prefers this online art download, as they were unable to get the album art working over Bluetooth.

Who is using the Eddict Player successfully with the H7? I can get it to appear as paired but for the life of me I cannot get it to connect (iphone). The iphone is bluetooth connected to the H7, the synclink is on, it shows up on the H7 as paired.

What am I missing?

Hi

Don't pair to the iPhone using Bluetooth.

Go into the list of paired Bluetooth devices in your iPhone and select "I" beside H7 on the list and then the option to "forget the device".

Turn on H7. Switch its mode to "Opti".

Go to the eddict player app and go to synclink in the settings and the device should appear there available to pair.

Select the device from the list and you can go scan your sd card and start listening then.

If you want to use synclink with iOS, it's better to pair it firstly in the Eddict player app, not in the Bluetooth settings.

Well I gave it a good try. Made a connection. Started the music scan and the app got hung up. Reset the H7 and tried again. Now it keeps trying to pair but won't . Uggh. Such a good sound out of this thing but boy the software (my experience) needs a LOT of work...
