I wish I had heard the M8 to compare but it wouldn't surprise me if some do prefer the H7 over the M8
Aside from my N8ii the H7 is possibily the best sounding alternative to a totl dap I've heard.
Of course earphones/headphones and music taste play a part in this but the H7 is a cracking device with excellent sound quality
Agreed, the H7 is probably my favourite sounding source - I’d love it in full DAP form… it was a big reason for me selling my M9.

How would you compare the H7 to the M9? I know the M9 well so will be easier for me to draw more conclusions. Im seriously considering the purchase.Agreed, the H7 is probably my favourite sounding source - I’d love it in full DAP form… it was a big reason for me selling my M9.
Had the Campfie Audio Supermoon delivered today
They pair really well with the H7, spent a few hours switching between the H7 and the N8ii listening to various tracks from different genres.
The H7 really does compete quite well with the N8ii, like I said earlier, not better but close in some areas.
Bit gutted I don't have the M8 or M9 to compare with

that will be pretty great altho expensive, honestly wish h7 had dual ak4499ex (don't know why my brain is so caught up on that), if it did there's a very solid chance i'd get itAgreed, the H7 is probably my favourite sounding source - I’d love it in full DAP form… it was a big reason for me selling my M9.
For me personally it's the one area where the H7 gets close to the N8ii. Highs are detailed and accurate but remain smooth and non fatiguingThanx alot. Which one has better stage and bass? Is the H7 as smooth in hights?
The N8ii has the better bass and stage however it's not leaps and bounds away.
There is a definite 'laws of diminishing returns' here.

I agree with you about the treble impression. They are very detailed yet smooth. For me personally it's the one area where the H7 gets close to the N8ii. Highs are detailed and accurate but remain smooth and non fatiguing

Players with these characteristics tend to have a certain warmth to them, but for me the H7 feels very neutral.
The H7's treble is like fine sand.
On the other hand, the sharpness of the sound contour, the amount of bass and mid-high range, and the sound field are all assertive and may seem uncoordinated at the beginning of playback.
These will improve with break-in.
need some help, which will be the best cables ( lightening to type c ) to use with H7 . At present, using fiio LT LT3

The new Eddict Player app update for Android is out on Chinese Shanling site. Seems there are useful fixes made:
1. Optimized automatic album art download.
2. Optimized Synclink connection.
3. Optimized language translations.
4. Other improvements and fixes.
I'll install it but i dont have the H7 with me on my holidays to test it out.
