Soliciting more impressions on the H7's line out. Anyone?
In my opinion it is fine. My use case is out to a receiver to play from SD card and it works perfectly for that.

Yup. Most probably be an afterthought. Half baked add on decided at the last minute.

The H7 was planned with the RCA outputs from the beginning, which is why it has separate analog stage for the RCA outputs (Muses8920 based).

@Shanling Do you have a plan to update the firmware soon so that we can do eq on the H7 when playing directly from the sd card through the Eddict Player?

We currently have no plans of adding EQ directly to H7.

Arrived.
Isn't the design upside down?
I think the headphone jack should be on the top.
Sounds great from the start very large scale. I will burn in for a while

Compare with M7.
Headphones are Edison XS.
Is the H7 more scaled and silkier?
I feel that Bluetooth is enough for LDAC connection.
I will listen to both for a while.
Knowing how Shanling’s AKM implementations so far, H7 is sure to be smoother over M7.

I am considering RCA next to Now PC.
This is due to volume, is there a line out mode or something like that?
There was a note that the sound was bad, but I feel that the output is simply insufficient
Gain mode was not linked to low or high. but the volumes are linked
In addition, volume of windows11 does not work.
Of course the volume of the app is useful.
Shanling USB Driver 5.20 (Win 10 only)
Is it possible that this driver is not compatible with windows 11?

There is no direct line-out mode, just make sure your volume is set at maximum and you are good to go.

RCA output at maximum volume should have standard 2V.

H7 has independent volume control, it's not controlled by system volume (in comparison to our UA models for example)

Please what issue are you facing with the drivers?

Thank you
We have confirmed that it is a specification that the system volume of windows 11 does not work
Max out the volume and enjoy the RCA output

H7→Ultrason signature H7→RCA→PA3→Ultrason signature I compared.
it with The directionality of sound is the same.
I prefer the H7→Ultrason signature a little.
Burn-in of Muses8920 with RCA output will probably change it.
I remember it took a long time with the shanling m7 Muses8920

I've never heard of the S.M.S.L D400EX, but I think it's difficult to win because the amount of materials is different.
However, I don't think H7's RCA is a bad thing either.

This comment had me thinking twice of getting the H7 because of the RCA line out:
However, do not use it as a DAC. The amp inside the H7 is /very/ well paired with the DAC circuit, as none of the issues I run into using external amps are noticeable when using the H7 on its own. However as soon as you use those RCA jacks on the back, everything falls apart. Stage is narrow, separation is in the tank, all the tasty native dynamics are gone. I compared directly to the SMSL D400EX, which is my favorite DAC of all time at this point, using SE outputs to both the Cayin IHA-6 and Cayin C9, as well as a few vintage and modern class D speaker amps. I listened with a number of IEMs (Empire Ears Legend Evo, 64audio N8, Noble Audio Kublai Khan) and planar headphones (Hifiman Susvara, Hifiman HE1000v1, Final D8000 Pro Collector's Edition). These issues were easily heard across all amps and transducers. D400EX is exciting, dynamic, detailed. The H7 is a mess.

I asked:
Soliciting more impressions on the H7's line out. Anyone?

And I got some really comforting replies:

Thanks @sutonpu and @Shanling! Now off to gather them coins to get the H7.

I kinda think the same as you. I'll stay with the M8 because I like this full, natural sound so much, above all it doesn't have the highs that are emphasized like many other DAPs. By that I also mean the M7, which sounds way too bright for my ears. I don't like that very much. While Shanling says the H7 sounds very different. But certainly not as awesome as the M8. I'll wait for the next Shanling DAP.
The H7 has a very similar sound signature to the M8, but with better bass texture and better extended treble. It also seems to have better midrange resolution. For me, the H7 is an upgrade of the M8.
For a moment I even considered selling the M8, but I have another use for it (and a special place in my heart  )

For the owners using Tidal, how's MQA decoding working from your IOS, Android sources?
I have made the experience that on the current ESS based low tier DACs there's some hickup occurring once you skip towards some MQA song and the song starts playing.
Same can happen once skipping within an MQA track.
On DAPS I haven't commonly found this issue.
Can anyone report if H7 is behaving seamlessly here without such hickups?
