Hi all ,I have bought apogee duet to home yesterday with Grado RS1, which is amazing!!

Also I got a cable to connect with my companion 5 speaker from 1/8” > RCA adapter > ¼ mono to Apogee duet, it is huge different between the DAC build-in on speaker!

However, im planning to get headphone amp RA1 to feed my RS1, here is some thought to connect with apogee duet :

1)Grado RA1 < RCA adapter < ¼ mono < Breakout cable(output L and R) < Apogee duet (but I have unplug and plug again in switching between Speaker and RA1)

2)Grado RA1 < RCA adapter < ¼ stereo < Apogee Duet headphone out


Just wondering if I connect to a headphone amp , the quality is better from lineout to headphone out ?

Secondly, I would like to connect my xbox RCA to Apogee duet

Xbox RCA > RCA adapter to ¼ mono > breakout cable IN

Am I on the right track ?

You are on the right track, and the best way to tell which sounds best is to try it and listen. After all, it's your ears you're trying to please.
