As the title suggest,does the sennehiser hd 439 need an amp coming from an iphone/iPad? If so,which one?

No. Regular ol' 32 ohms, works fine w/android phone at least.

They are optimized for portable players, you will be fine.

It will be fine with portable players.... But with a portable amp (Like fiio e6 or fiio e5) are better and more mmm dynamic, or something like that xD, not a night/day change but recommended.
