The linked article claims the amp is especially designed to work well with the HD800, so this looks promising. But nearly $2000 for an amp raises the stakes - and expectations - too high for my own comfort.

If I'm understanding this correctly, its a balanced amp with its own 24/192 on-board DAC.  That potentially makes the price tag a bit more reasonable, but it's still a chunk of change.
 
Hopefully Jude will have some interesting information on it...
