Hello,

The jack's cover of my neally new Sennheiser MX51 started to get unglued.
They are nearly new, but I use them in different players but I didn't plug and unplug the headphones soo many times to get it ungluged already.
I am the first one?
I am afraid that the same thing continue to happen to the replacements, probably the jack design isn't soo great on this model.

I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't have the same problem, but my last pair of MX55s (basically the same earbud as yours plus twist-to-fit) had some problems with the wire insulation; the rubber (?) covering the wire teared, and the wire became exposed. Sennheiser replaced it no questions asked, but I can't help but feel that the Street Line earbuds have disappointing build quality.

If your replacement pair breaks, and you can't get another replacement, you could try getting the MX460. The newer Senn buds have a lot better build, and they sound better to boot.

YOU're not the first one. I have the same problem on MX70 and I glued it back with UHU (never have a problem since). Also saw a few reports on another website too.

I'm afraid of doing that and then later have another problem and Sennheiser refuse to repair them.

I buy them on an online store and now the Portuguese service partner refuse to handle my warranty, stating that as I didn't buy the headphones in Portugal they don't have anything to do with it, that I should open a RMA on the online store.

Are the MX460 better? Are the drivers better or the same as the MX51?
The design looks the same.

IMHO, I feel the MX460 is better than the MX55 for a number of reasons: better treble detail, more "open" sounding, has faster response, and has nicer instrument separation. If you do decide to get the MX460, I recommend using donut foams, since the bud tends to sound a bit dry without the pads.

As for the drivers, I think the MX460 share its driver with the MX560, 660, and 760, and isn't the same as the 64-ohm Sennheisers (MX50~55, 70~, 90~).
