Is anyone having troubles with the right bud crackling?

I purchased them one week ago and worked great until yesterday.
It sounds like the right driver is dying, tried factory reset, using them on my macbook, changing codecs, nothing changes.
Same rattling / crackling happens when I play music or podcasts, especially in voice frequency range. Even while fitting the bud into my ear with nothing playing, or when I tap the bud for play/pause.

Thanks!

According to the CNET reviewer these will get multipoint in a future firmware update. I also wonder if they'll also enable LE audio in the future as well?

I also expect the MTW3 to improve over time with plenty of firmware updates like its predecessor.
Already updated FW version and got multipoint.... Connected to 2 devices simultaneously. Works like a charm.

Hi everyone

I'm having issues with crackling and dropouts on the right bud (left bud is fine). It's worst in very busy environments - King's Cross Station is a nightmare, but it also happened walking down Oxford Street today.

I assumed it was just down to high levels of interference in the station, but on Oxford Street it seemed to happen when anyone wearing airpods walked past me.

I've tried resetting the earbuds, which didn't help and I'm running the latest firmware. This is on a Samsung s22+.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Is it normal behaviour or should I RMA?

After 6 months of sporadic use the right bud died. Been two weeks now since I dropped them off at the (EU) dealer I bought them. Status is still ‘in repair’. I expected they would just exchange them under warranty but that is not happening (for now?) it seems.

Not normal but I might have a few suggestions. I will DM you. I also use an s22+ with MTW3 and have been since the launch, no issues.

I don't know if I have terrible luck, or if these TW3's have terrible build quality. I got mine May 10th - as soon as they were available to order. After about 3-4 months the right bud began to crackle. Soon after the speaker was dead. Everything worked, just no audio. I continued on using just the left bud for non-music stuff for a couple months as I was swamped at work. I finally got them RMA'd, shipped out got them back sometime mid December.

Well... that crackling sound came back in the right bud. Within a day or two the speaker died. That was last week. Yesterday the left bud began crackling. I imagine it won't be long before that one dies as well. Looks like I'll be starting the RMA process this weekend...

Can someone here tell me, if your source device only supports AptX HD and not AptX Adaptive (such as the new Sony NW-A306), will you still be able to make full use of the AptX HD codec with the MTW3's? Such as getting 576kbps and 24/48? Thanks.

AptX adaptive (MTW3) is backwards compatible with AptX HD and if the bandwidth is there (RF environment plays a big role), will get you at a level up to AptX HD.

I see, so, if I'm using the MTW3's with say, the new Sony NW-A306 DAP, which has AptX HD, but not AptX Adaptive, I'll be getting audio up to 24/48 at 576? (promised by the AptX HD codec) ? I've read conflicting information online, some of which says the audio source would need to have the capability of AptX Adaptive, in order to provide 24/48, even if you just wanted to use the AptX HD codec. What I've read, and I don't know if it's accurate, is that the version of AptX Adaptive that the MTW3's have is NOT backwards compatible.

Assuming the bandwidth is there, you'll get up to AptX HD.

Can I ask how many people here have been using the MTW3's fairly consistently since close to when they were released, and NOT had any issues with them operationally? I don't care about ANC, or making calls, I'm only interested in a strong connection and SQ. I'm getting a little scared by the fact it seems over half of the Amazon reviews here in the U.S. state that one or the other earphone stopped working, or sound started becoming softer in one, or there were major connection issues requiring a return or exchange.

Sorry, but what bandwidth are you referring to exactly? I had meant if I was using BT to listen to music files locally stored on the NW-A306 (DAP) with the MTW3s.
