Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 Impressions Thread

I have these since wednesday. Love the fitting. Great sound quality too.
But…..
Is it correct I need to pair them with my iphone everytime I want to use them?
Pairing is also settings in the iphone not only touching both pods?
Thanks
Actually they should connect automatically after you've initially paired them with your phone.

Thanks for the reply @ericpalonen
This is disapointing. I have some other BT audio connections I use/used. Makita drm112, B&W P7 headphone, Fiio M11, Hifiman Tws600.
These are all spotless connected as soon as I start using them.
With the MTW3 it is 15 years back in connection age.

I hope I do something wrong but don’t know what. App deleted and installed again, same with the iphone br settings.
Btw, thanks for your reaction.
They only automatically connect to the last device they've previously paired with. If you pair(ed) them to more than one device, it could be that your iPhone was not the most recent one and in that case they wouldn't auto connect.

But even then, you can either go into the app and select your iPhone from the connection manager list or press both buds simultaneously and connect in the Bluetooth setting of your iPhone (manually).

But is is strange I need to do this everytime I use them.
Even when, say, you listen to music with them and your iPhone then put them in the case and take them out again?

That way they surely must auto connect, no?

No. And that is what I at least expect them to do. There is no steady connection
Not sure then. Mine do auto connect in that situation.

I take them out of the case, stick them in my ears, I hear: ‘connected’.
Hit play in spotifi
I hear: ‘ not connected’.
Music starts playing on the iphone 11
Fingers on the buds it says ‘pairing’
But still no music.
Then open settings on the phone and it says MTW3 ‘ connected ‘
NO music, only the mtw3 says ‘pairing’
Niw I need to pair them by the iphone settings.
After a few seconds music.

When music starts playing on your iPhone and not on the MTW3, I wouldn't go into pairing mode but try to select the audio output device from "iPhone" to the MTW3 once more. If you can do that in Spotify but I suspect you can (see picture attached using Apple Music).

I remember I had the issue at the very beginning that I took them out of the case and constantly heard "connected", "no connection", "connected" and so on. It was pretty annoying at the beginning. It has become much better though by now (also using an iPhone) with the most recent firmware(s). They still seem to be a bit buggy unfortunately. Companies do that these days. Release unfinished and buggy products and try to polish it out via firmware updates down the road. Some do it more than others. I hope Sennheiser fixes the remaining MTW3 bugs quickly now.

Most of us would be better off waiting for a couple of months after a product release so that the worst bugs have been ironed out and even the price has already come down a bit, honestly.

For [most] of the Android folks out there, here's a real-time MTW3 connect / disconnect / re-connect video; it's pretty seamless and as long as there have been no manual device purges or drastic system updates (OS or firmware), you shouldn't need to re-pair to a familiar device that often at all. I'll track down an iPhone and do a similar video asap.

Here's an iPad OS version (sorry, no one in my house with an iPhone is available; I'll shoot another one asap) doing a similar drill: connect, disconnect, and re-connect without pairing. This time I am using TIDAL instead of Apple Music.
