Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Have any of you tried using another 2.5mm cable with the momentum?

The one I have is driving me crazy (the non-mic version) at work everytime I step on the cable with the desk edge or relatively hard with my arm the sound suddenly stop.

Would Beyer or Shure pads work for these, or are they too big?

Sounds like you have a defective cable.  Sennheiser would probably send out a replacement if you call them.

I assumed so. I'm determined to find a pair of larger pads that will fit in order to benefit all of mankind that has Momentums.

The sennheiser HD202/203/212 earpads should fit. (HD202 can be had for $30) It has larger ear holes too though it might not be as deep. (but that can be solved by stuffing cotton.)

For me it's always tough to judge whether or not a new pair of pads will work since the size/comfort will be different and the sound might change.

Crazy good review! I absolutely love the styling of the 'Momentum' headphones and I'm more than tempted to order them, but I won't. The most revealing part of your review that I found interesting, is that you feel the DT1350 offered better isolation. Frankly, I was a bit surprised that you found the DT 1350 more isolating than the 'Momentum'. The DT 1350 set, is clearly an on-ear design so I must be missing something.

As I posted elsewhere, I'm waiting arrival of the 1350's although I can imagine they'll suit my needs in my studio. However, if they do isolate well, and do not bleed into my microphone, and they're actually comfortable, then I'd be very happy! As it is, it's the UPS driver with the bigger smile.

Could someone point me in the right direction here, has anyone done a comparison between the leather vs velour(?) pads? If not, what differences could I expect? I'm wondering about the differences because I just happened to stumble upon a velour model on amazon that I hadn't seen before.

From what I read so far, the difference is the size, as the velour pad is meant for the new on the ear Momentum (smaller) while the leather pad is for over the ear model (larger).
I might be wrong though as I've never tried the new on the ear Momentum as they have only been released yesterday in Singapore
