Sounds like a bargain to me also.
But the OP asked about a difference, I assume he meant an improvement in sound quality. Koolpep honestly stated he heard no improvement in SQ. That was the whole point of the question.
Got these on sale on Amazon and they finally arrived. First impressions are pretty good. Some things to check:
1. Why is the plain cable louder than the one with the volume control even though I set it all of the way up?
2. My ears just fit inside. After listening for one hour, they started to be uncomfortable.
That's a shame. This is unlikely to improve without costly cosmetic surgery, I can strongly recommend an ear-reduction.
But it's your money, and it may be better spent on a larger headphone... but YMMV.

It might sound silly but with large ears, just don't put them inside. Let the ear pads rest on the large part of your ears and just trust the memory foam to get a good seal. Works for me and I can listen to the Momentums for much longer. The same can be said for the Onkyo ES FC300 - same thing. No need to put your ears inside.

Every piece of equipment in the signal path increases the impedance/ resistance of the cable and making it quieter. This could be an example of the effect. Nothing to worry about though.

The volume control in the Momentums are not in the signal path, it affects the volume back at the DAP/Phone and thus are not inline with the headphone's tranducers. It is possible that the TRRS wiring in the Momentum is not compatible with the DAP/Phone one is using and in that case, use the other cable. If while one holds in buttons (perhaps the middle button) the sound increases, the wiring can be an issue.

Oh, many thanks, learned something new. Thinking about it, it makes perfect sense, I should have figured that out myself, that it's not the same as the old volume sliders in the path...
