To clarify, pico slim is an amp.Through line out the dual sabre dacs of dx90 are working full throttle pumping awesome detail.The volume change is done by the dual sabre ES9018K2M and pico slim.Obviously i am not talking whether an iphone can play them loud enough...It can.You just won't hear what ie800 is capable of.

I'm using it with the dx50 but am planning on getting the pico slim as well since the amp section of the dx50 is not that great. Hey Caruryn do you think the ie800's would pair ok with the pico slim and dx50?

I have not heard it with dx50.I have read somewhere around here that pico slim and dx50 is a good match but the guy did not have ie800.The problem with slim is that it does not have much juice and i consider ie800 harder to drive than armature iems.Obviously you are going to drive it just fine with dx50 alone,I am just not sure if through line out you can change the volume with dx50 as i can do with my dx90.However, if you consider buying slim, I strongly advise down the road to save money and buy dx90.Apart from the volume change which as i mentioned is being done by the sabre dacs there are obvious sonic differences as members in the dx90 thread mentioned.

How much of a difference does the Pico slim give added to the dx90? Is it really that much of a difference from just using the dx90's HO?

Without hyperboling I would say 25%-30% for the senns specifically.Slim didn't do that much of a difference with Fischer amps or shure535.I state clearly the differences with ie800 on dx90 thread pg46.When Axel Grell was saying the better the source the better the sound he wasn't kidding.

I'm using my IE800 with AK100 now.It is nice combination.But,I wanna buy AK120.

If I were you, I'd buy Chord Hugo. I don't own it but a friend does, I tried IE800s with them and they sounded amazing. Chord Hugo is indeed one of the best dac/amps in the market, perhaps the best one under USD 5.000. You can use it with your phone or tablet.

I'm a bank examiner so that'd be bad for my job. I know it's expensive but not ridiculously expensive compared to AK120. If he can spend 1K for AK120, I thought maybe he could spend 2K for Chord Hugo. Still though, it's worth that money.

If you want dap only Hisound studio v3, colourfly c4,ak240 possibly hm901 they all pair well with ie800 judging by impressions of the users.However,be prepared to spend big money if you aren't gonna pair it with an amp.Possibly ak240 balanced out.As i said on the other thread my dx90 while it drives them very satisfactorily there is still room for big improvements.

I know all players without AK240 you said.In the others Ak120 is better.I know it like this.
 
I don't think AK240.It is so expensive and undue.
 
Yes,I'm curious about DX90.Maybe I will test it at this weekend.
 
And I don't look for big players.Like C4,901,DX100,240 vs.They are too big for carriage.I can't listen them at outside.
 
About carriage Ak100 and Ak120 best players I guess.
